My brother's wedding and Facebook

At last I've finally got my head round Facebook (only taken 3 years) and Twitter, so first and foremost would you all please support us and become fans! The thing that finally pushed me to do this was my brother Charles' recent wedding (27th September) to the lovely Melissa. A truly amazing and very happy, memorable day and in fact I'm going to post a few photos on Facebook page so if you fancy being nosey then go join and take a look!

One very special guest at my brother's wedding was my extraordinarily brave Auntie Ann who sadly lost her 3 year battle with a brain tumour on November 5th, aged 67. We didn't think she would be able to make the wedding and when she arrived with my uncle, it was a very poignant moment for me. Her determination and strength were incredible and having her there was the 'icing on the cake' for me and reminded me that the best weddings or parties are always the ones of those you love the most.

Winter is without doubt my favourite time of year to get married or have a party. Everyone seems to focus so heavily on Christmas at this time of year and I think a Winter party or wedding can be a welcome respite from the chaos of the Christmas build up. Candlelight, open fires, mulled wine and those you care about most around you seem to have a calming effect and help get everything back into perspective. So, when planning those winter party table decorations think about what's really important and remember that adage "less is more"! Short and sweet this month. I need to update our Facebook status!
