Don’t panic, you are not alone in leaving your wedding favours way down the budgeting list! The good news is that there are lots of money savvy ways to create sensational wedding favours on a tight budget. First off my advice is, if you have time, shop around. Even a small saving per favour can amount to quite a lot when buying for each guest.
If you are flexible on the type of favours you have, try looking on website clearance sections, there are often good bargains to be found! Instead of individual favours, consider shared favours. Tin favour pails, full of chocolates or sweets, placed every other guest or placed around the table centrepiece work really well.
Another cost saving tip is to choose favours that don’t need any extra packaging; packets of sweets or pre wrapped chocolates are ideal. If you have time, consider making your favours, homemade biscuits/cookies in a cellophane bag tied with a ribbon look (and hopefully taste) great and don’t cost the earth to make.
Heart shaped lavender bags are another favourite of mine and can be ‘whipped up’ on the sewing machine in no time even for those with little or no sewing experience. One more homemade option is a scented tea light with a ribbon and nametag wrapped around it, simple yet remarkably effective! If you do decide to go down the homemade route don’t forget to get your bridal party involved – many hands make light work!
