Vintage themed weddings continue to be a popular choice amongst brides. I feel that a vintage theme can be further broken down into lots of different styles – shabby chic, rustic, French vintage, floral tea party. I love the vintage theme as it provides a beautiful ambience and understated romance to a wedding day.
Lovely pastels or muted bright colours, found on old tea sets both work well. In terms of your table decorations simple centrepieces, such as lavender pots wrapped in brown parcel paper tied with ribbon have a lovely vintage feel, use the same coloured ribbon around napkins tied in small bows finished with a parcel tag style name card.
It is possible to hire old vintage crockery, if this is too costly then consider having just an old teapot with flowers in it or a cup and saucer setting for after dinner coffees. Mismatching glassware is great for a vintage theme – collect old jars on the run up to your big day and fill with candles and tea-lights scattered across your tables. For vintage wedding favours it is the finishing touches that really make this look special.
Spruce up a plain favour box with a length of ribbon lace and finish with a pretty button. If you are having a spring wedding, packets of flower seeds tied with a simple ribbon bow make lovely favours.
Complete your tables with touches such as mini floral crackers or vintage inspired picks at each place setting.
Voila!
