We couldn’t help but giggle when we spotted this wedding story in a top newspaper recently! Whilst most couples top their wedding cake with smiling newlyweds, symbolising the long and happy life they are about to embark on together, others area little less traditional, using their cake topper to inject some fun into their big day – take a look at some of the most controversial cake toppers we’ve ever seen…

In what could be the strangest wedding cake toppers ever, these figurines range from awkwardly sexual, with a bride straddling her groom atop the cake or squeezing her new husband’s bottom, to just plain awkward, such as a wife standing over her partner who is attached to a ball and chain or a groom dragging his bride along by the ankle.

Many imply the bride tricked her groom into walking down the aisle, while others suggest one of them may have to resort to murder before long.

What do you think? A bit of harmless fun, or something which will send guest running from the reception?

Having none of it! A wife resolutely drags her husband to the church!

A little sinister for the 'perfect' day?

Raunchy! A bride and groom cake topper that will have grandparent blushing...
