2011, what a wonderful year for weddings! From the real Royals to rock and fashion royalty, we’ve seen it all. Celebs have suprised us with shotgun marriages and wowed up with show-stopping designer dresses and we’ve loved every minute of it at The Last Detail. Here’s a breakdown of just some of our favourite weddings of 2011…
Shania Twain & Frédéric Thiébaud
Congratulations to Canadian country singer, Shania Twain who married Swiss businessman Frédéric Thiébaud on New Year’s Day in Puerto Rico. The singer looked beautiful and miraculously younger than her 45 years in a white strapless dress with a black sash and full-length veil from a small Swiss boutique, accessorised with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Calvin Klein shoes. The couple said their vows in a beach ceremony in front of 40 close family and friends.
Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth
Reese Witherspoon married Jim Toth at her seven-acre Ojai farm on March 26, 2011. Witherspoon wore a blush-colored wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier and changed into cowboy boots at the reception.

Abbey Clancey & Peter Crouch
Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch married in Stapleford Park in Leicestershire in front of 120 guests. Coleen Rooney was among the well-wishers. The wedding took place despite numerous rumours as to Crouch’s fidelity throughout 2011.
Prince William & Kate Middleton
Prince William and Kate Middleton were married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. The Royal Wedding was attended by 1,900 guests including government, clergy, royalty and celebrities. The most talked about wedding of the year and perhaps the century, Kate and her sister Pippa caused a stir in their gorgeous gowns which were designed by Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton.
Caleb Followill & Lily Aldridge
Rock fans everywhere cried when they heard that the lead singer of Kings of Leon had married the beautiful Lily at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito on May 12, 2011. Lily wore a mermaid style wedding dress by Vera Wang and looked absolutely radiant on the day.
Lily Allen & Sam Cooper
After a tough couple of years for Lily Allen, everyone was delighted when herself and her bump walked down the aisle with Sam Cooper. The couple were married near her home in Cranham, England on June 11, 2011.
Zara Phillips & Mike Tindall
The Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips, married Mike Tindall at Canongate Kirk in Scotland on July 29, 2011.The second royal wedding of 2011 – Zara wore a wedding dress by Stewart Parvin.
David Williams & Lara Stone
Claridge’s was the venue of choice for Londoners David Walliams and Lara Stone. The glamorous pair hosted their traditional nuptials at the hotel before slipping into something more comfortable (a bow tie for him; a shimmering gold dress for her) at Shoreditch House. Their celeb friends were all in attendance, with Fearne Cotton on the decks, and Geri Halliwell, Vernon Kay, Tess Daly and Matt Lucas on the dancefloor.
Russell Brand & Katy Perry
Quirky pair Russell Brand and Katy Perry married at a luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The couple’s six-day celebration included a Hindu wedding ceremony, elephants, drum players and the pair staying in a luxury tent at the Aman-i-Khas resort. Just the type of extravagance you would have expected!
Kate Moss & Jamie Hince
Fashion’s golden girl, Kate Moss and her fiancee Jamie Hince tied the knot at a three-day celebration in the Cotswolds, dubbed “Moss-stock”. Guests includes Sadie Frost and Jamie’s The Kills’ bandmate Alison Mosshart, who acted as “Best Woman”.
Paul McCartney & Nancy Shervell
Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell were married at Old Marylebone Town Hall on October 8, 2011. Nancy wore a dress by her daughter-in-law Stella McCartney.
